3 months on the mission and it seems I've been here my whole life!!! Burny is gone :( my new companion is sister Nicoll, she's nice. Obviously we are still getting to know each other but for the time being, we get along. Other than that everything goes well, the elders and we are trying to see miracles here in Almeria...let's see if that happens...I love this ward!!! they help us pretty much.
Conference is coming up! I'm really excited and sad at the same time. Because this one will be the first time in a long time that I wont be at the Conference Center in Salt Lake. Last Conference weekend was an adventure!! ahaha right Daniela, Ana....??
But things are going well in general.. we have another date for a baptism on October 11 :) her name is Viviana, she´s just the sweetest! and she is really receptive to the gospel and the promptings of the spirit.. I'm really exited for her! :) October 11! woohooo! Everything else is fine also, My new companion and I like to work so it´s good, I like her. We only hope that Antonio will soon decide to keep growing spiritually and get baptized, but well.. On Pdays we basically just play cards cause there's not a lot to do as missionaries, but I actually do enjoy it! I've found out that I'm not that bad at it ;) Besides that I keep buying clothes (can't help it, not even as a missionary)
It rains a lot but it's cooler, so I'm happy :) I´m still waiting for letters! (I love receiving letters, it's the funniest part of our days.. ) Xxx

Hago 3 meses en la mision y ya parece que llevara una vida aqui! Burny se ha ido :( ahora estoy con la Hermana Nicoll, es simpatica, todavia estamos conociendonos obviamente pero por ahora nos llevamos bien.. aparte de eso todo va bien, los elderes y nosotras estamos intentando ver milagros aqui en almeria.. pero bueno, a ver si es cierto que vemos.. me encanta el barrio aqui! nos ayudan bastante...
Se acerca la conferencia! estoy animada y triste a la vez. Porque esta vez es la primera vez en mucho tiempo que no la veo en el Centro de Conferencias de Salt Lake City. El fin de semana de la ultima conferencia fue una aventura hahaha verdad Daniela, Ana??
Pero las cosas van bien en general tenemos otra fecha bautismal para el 11 de octubre!!!!! :). Su nombre es Viviana, es un encanto, es realmente receptiva al evangelio y a las impresiones del espiritu...estoy tan animada por ella! :) 11 de octubre! guay!
Todo lo demas tambien esta bien. A mi nueva compañera y a mi nos gusta trabajar asi que eso es bueno, Me cae bien. Solo esperamos que Antonio decida pronto continuar progresando espiritualmente y se bautice pero bueno.....
En los dias de preparacion lo que hacemos basicamente es jugar a cartas, No hay otras cosas que hacer siendo misioneros, pero de hecho me gusta de verdad! he descubierto que no soy tan mala ;). Ademas de eso, sigo comprando ropa (no puedo evitarlo! incluso de misionera)
Llueve mucho pero hace menos calor asi que estoy feliz :).
Todavia estoy esperando recibir cartas (me encanta recibir cartas, es la parte mas divertida del dia... xxx

Rosa and Enrique had a lot of opposition. For starters their family told them that if they got baptized they wouldn't talk to them anymore and some other incidents happened...as bad as the same day of their baptisms Enrique was in hospital!!!! Something was wrong with his back, I don't know what, and he couldn't move. After some tests, the doctor said that there was no way he was going to get baptized that day, that his back wouldn't bear it... all this 2 hours before the baptism. Well, we didn't know what to do... we called Elder Mcluckie and Elder Fredickson and asked them to give him a blessing “and by their faith they will be cured ....” He told us that after the blessing he felt something cold going up his back and after that he didn’t feel the pain anymore. After the baptism he said his back didn’t hurt (even though the medical tests said something was wrong). After his baptism he said he had no pain any longer! I just love them. Hahaha, Rosa is so much fun. She says “The doctor said that no baptisms in a while and I was thinking to myself, after we get out of here, there will be baptisms”. Aren’t they adorable??!!!! Well, they read a lot and since Enrique has a little more free time he has read the WHOLE Book of Mormon!!!! Yeah!!!!!! he started a few weeks before the baptism and he has finished it up already. He’s always reading church books, Liahonas, whatever. He loves it!!!!
He says he doesn’t even watch tv any longer because he has no time to do it and doesn’t feel like it either ;) Isn’t it great???!!!! They are gold!!!!. Now let's see if we can find other golden people to teach =D or some of our investigators finally turn into “gold” =)

Tuvieron un montón de oposición Rosa y Enrique, su familia les dijo que ni les hablaran si se bautizaban y también algún que otro incidente..... tantos que hasta en mismo día del bautismo Enrique estaba en el hospital!! Le pasó no sé que en la espalda y no se podía mover. En el hospital, después de hacerles las pruebas y todo, el doctor les dijo que nada de bautismos ese día, que la espalda de él no aguantaría.. todo esto 2 horas antes del bautismo.. Bueno, nosotras no sabíamos que hacer.., llamamos a Elder Mcluckie y Elder Fredickson para que le dieran una bendición a Enrique y.... ‘por su fe serán curados…”, ayer el nos dijo que después de la bendición sintió como una cosa fría que pasaba por su espalda y no le dolía nada (después de que las pruebas medicas dijeran que estaba mal) Después del bautismo dijo que no sintió nada de dolor!!! me encantan!! ahhaha Rosa es para morirse de risa, dice, "el doctor nos dijo que nada de bautismos en un tiempo y yo estaba pensando para mi, en cuanto salgamos de aquí de bautismo todo" No son adorables!!!!.. bueno, los dos leen un montón, y como Enrique tiene un poco mas de tiempo se ha leído TODO el Libro de Mormón!!!!! sí!!!! lo empezó unas semanas antes del bautismo y ahora ya lo ha acabado!!! y esta todo el día leyendo libros de la iglesia, Liahonas, todo, le encanta!!! dice que ya ni ve la tele porque no tiene ni tiempo ni ganas ;P no es genial!!! son oro!! ahora a ver si encontramos a alguien mas de oro para enseñar! :D o a ver si alguno de nuestros investigadores también se vuelven de oro de una vez :P

August 12th

The mission has difficult things like walking under the sun the whole day, being rejected thousands of times during the day, appointments you make with people and after walking through the whole city, you knock at their door to find out they are not at home, Toilets that don’t work, as mine and showers in which is so difficult to get warm water that you end up having a shower with cold water… But nothing that I can’t overcome or not survive to ;P. The truth is that the blessings and miracles that you can see every day are so big that all those things don’t matter. Actually every time my comp and I have a terrible day something happens at the end that makes everything worthwhile.
This week something incredible has happened … Spain is going to have 2 more members!!!!!!!! Yeah!!!!!! We‘re going to have 2 baptisms the 29th of August !!!!! they are a couple from Argentina, Rosa and Enrique. They are so cool!!!!!! They fulfill their commitments, obey the commandments, etc.. Getting baptized scared them but at the end they have felt they had to accept the invitation to get baptized =) so cool!!!!!!!!

La misión tiene cosas difíciles como andar todo el día bajo el sol, ser rechazada mil veces al día, gente con la que quedas y después de atravesar toda la ciudad, cuando llamas a su puerta, no están en casa ... =/ baños que no funcionan, como el mío y duchas en las que es tan difícil que salga agua caliente que acabas duchandote =) que guay!!!!!!!! con agua fría... Pero nada que no se pueda superar o a lo que no pueda sobrevivir ;P Realmente las bendiciones o los milagros que se ven cada día son tan grandes que esas cosas no importan. De hecho siempre que mi compañera y yo tenemos un día horrible, luego pasa algo al final del día que hace que todo merezca la pena.
Esta semana ha pasado algo increíble…España va a tener 2 miembros mas =) que guay!!!!!!!!s!! Sí!! Tenemos un bautismo el 29 de agosto!!! =). Los que se bautizan son un matrimonio de Argentina, Rosa y Enrique. Son geniales!!!!!!! Cumplen sus compromisos, los mandamientos, etc… Les daba mucho miedo bautizarse, pero bueno al final han sentido que debían aceptar la invitación de bautizarse =) que guay!!!!!!!!

I love my investigators, especially Rosa and Enrique. I've found out Almeria is beautiful at least the elder's area. I love my companion and I love missionary work working with her. Seems I'm getting used to the warm weather. Being a missionary is cool, for the first time in my life most of my thoughts go to other people, investigators, members, etc. I'm so happy to be here because the mission has so many cool things. And there's nothing as marvelous as the blessings you've got after working hard :). And maybe there will be good news soon, don't know :D
Adoro mis investigadores, especialmente ahora Rosa y Enrique.. he descubierto q Almeria es bonito, por lo menos el area de los elderes. Adoro a mi companera y me encanta el trabajo misional con ella!. Cada vez lo paso meno mal con el calor, es guay ser misionera. Por primera vez en mi vida practicamente todos mi pensamientos son acerca de otras personas, investigadores, miembros, etc. Ahora me alegro mucho de estar aqui, porque la mision tiene cosas guay, y no hay nada mas maravilloso qe las bendiciones despues de trabajar duro :) y quizas pronto habra buenas nocticias, no se :D

I always heard that missionary life was mostly a routine, but in just two weeks I have had all kinds of experiences that prove just the opposite. From my first day in Almeria the toilet would not work; we have to flush it with buckets of water. We were told it would be fixed that very same day or the next but, you see, two whole weeks have gone by and ... it's still broken! We are three sisters working as a trio, but we also work with a young lady, Melisa, who is on a "mini-mission". She's 16 and she's awesome. She is from Almeria so every Sunday we see her mom and her boyfriend =P. Although we are four, on the paperwork we are officially three and we keep changing companions; so doing the reports and all the planning, goals, etc it's crazy. This is not boring at all. My companions are Sister Burningham and Sister Nelson. Sister Burningham is my missionary "mother". She's the sweetest really and Sister Nelson is a hard worker. We live in an unpopulated area of the town; as my comps would say, chunguisima =). There's no food stores nearby or anything else. My arms ache all over from so much weight lifting with heavy bags! We have to carry bags all the way from far-away stores to our home. How I miss my car!!! I always tell my comps when we are doing our shopping and have to carry the weighty stuff. By the way, running under the glaring sun should be banned! It's soooo hot here in the South. Now I see it does make a lot of sense to have fans! I can't go anywhere without my fan, just like any old busybody charwoman! There's something else. Around here every woman goes by María or Carmen or sometimes also Loli =P

Todo el mundo me decía que en la mision la vida era monótona pero todavía no llevo ni dos semanas y me ha pasado de todo. Desde el primer día que llegué a Almería el baño no funciona y tenemos que echar agua con un cubo. Dijeron que lo arreglarían ese día o al día siguiente y bueno, ya han pasado dos semanas.
Somos tres misioneras pero trabajamos tambien con una chica, Melisa, que está haciendo una mini-mision. Tiene 16 años y es un cielo de chica. Es de aquí, de Almeria, asi que vemos todos los domingos a su madre y a su novio =P. Aunque somos cuatro, en los papeles salimos tres y cambiamos mucho de compañeras, así que es una locura a la hora de hacer numeros, metas y el planeamiento. Vamos, nada normal.
Mis compañeras son la hna Burningham y la hna Nelson. La hna Burningham es mi madre en la misión. Es un encanto, de verdad y la hna Nelson es super trabajadora
Vivimos en una zona deshabitada,o como dirian mis compañeros, chunguísima =). No hay cerca ni tiendas de comida ni de nada. Ya me duelen los brazos de hacer tantas pesas. Siempre tenemos que cargar las bolsas hasta casa, que esta un poco lejos. Echo de menos mi coche en esos momentos. Siempre se lo digo a mis compañeras cuando estamos cargando cosas. Por cierto, correr debajo el sol, deberia ser ilegal!!! Vaya calor hace aqui abajo! Ya entiendo porque existen los abanicos! No puedo salir de casa sin uno, como las marujas. Ah y aquí todas se llaman María o Carmen o quizás también Loli =P
